Top Communication Apps in Ukraine: Q1 2025 Performance Overview

In the first quarter of 2025, the performance of the leading communication apps in Ukraine showed varied trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a detailed look at how these apps performed on a unified platform, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Telegram experienced notable fluctuations in revenue, starting at approximately $795K in early January and peaking at $722K in mid-February. Downloads decreased steadily over the quarter, from around 111K to 55K by the end of March. Active users remained stable, hovering around 27.3M to 27.6M.

For WhatsApp Messenger, downloads were highest in mid-January at 105K but gradually decreased to about 60K by late March. The app maintained a strong base of active users, increasing from 9.4M to over 10M throughout the quarter.

My Kyivstar: mobile services saw a decline in downloads, beginning at nearly 118K and dropping to 41K by the end of March. Active users fluctuated, reaching a peak of 5.5M in late March, after a dip earlier in the quarter.

Rakuten Viber Messenger had a consistent revenue trend, with figures ranging from $26K to $35K. Downloads decreased from 73K to 32K, while active users showed minor variations, maintaining a strong presence around 24.5M to 25.2M.

Finally, Messenger reported minimal revenue, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter. Downloads fell from 51K to 23K, and active users decreased from 6.5M to approximately 5.8M.
